Purple Smokey Eye - Debenhams beauty gala

I was lucky enough to be able to attend a beauty gala being held at my local Debenhams store tonight. I had an amazing night and I received so much free stuff that I shall be doing a post on tomorrow!
I thought I'd go for a dark smokey look tonight as they just always look good and ended up creating a purple look!
This is the look while my hair was still up in rollers and this was the finished look..
For once I was actually quite pleased with the result! I started by priming the face with my bare minerals primer and then I decided I'd use my stupid sculpt foundation today as I was wanted a flawless look. I conclealed, highlighted and contoured as shown in my previous post and set all with the urban decay setting spray. My eyebrows consist of being abit too heavy handed with a pencil and setting with the benefit gimme brown in light
For the eyes and started by putting Sellotape in the corners to give a sharp edge and then primed the eyes with prime potion in Eden. I used the naked 1 and 3 palette and the balm nude tude palette to create the final look! I lined the water and tight line with benefit that gal and lined the top with the eyeko felt liner and then loaded up the lashes with lots of benefit they're real mascara and with another setting of the makeup with my trusty spray I was ready to leave the house!

How I contour

My favourite thing to do with makeup is to contour. I love how much it can change a face and just make it look so much better. Here's how I do mine...
I started off by moustirsing my face with the embryolisse cream and primed with the gosh primer. I applied a mac tinted moisturiser to give my face abit of colour and concealed a few problem areas with my mac studio fix.
Now for the fun part. The area I choose to highlight are the chin, bridge of the nose, forehead, under the cheekbones and under the eyes and to do this I use the mac pro concealer palette(best product I've ever brought) I then contour the face with the maybelline fit me foundation stick in honey on the temples,under/on the jaw line and then on the hollows of the cheeks
Once all this has been blended I take mac msf in light and set all the highlighted areas and the take nars casino and set all the contoured areas. I finish with a benefit rockateur and the balm mary louminizer and set it all with the urban decay 24 hour setting spray!

Makeup of the day,Cinema date

Cute cinema date with the boy, went for a smokey grey/brown eye, slightly 60's inspired, heavy brown and contoured face.I started the look off with my embryolisse moisturiser and primed with the gosh classic primer. It's way too hot to deal with foundation at the moment so using my mac concealer,I concealed every inch of my face then took the mac pro concealer palette and highlighted under the eyes and contoured with the bourjois tan primer. I powdered my face with the mac msf in light under the eyes, nose, forehead and chin and powdered the rest with bare minerals powder foundation. I bronzed my face with the nars casino and highlighted with the balm Mary Lou minizer
I did my usual eye brow (which I've done a blog post on previously) and went for a smokey grey and brown eye using the urban decay naked 3 palette and the loaded up my mascara and set it all with urban decay setting spray!

Eyebrow tutorial

Such a strong brow game, every day. There's just something about a heavy defined brow I love! The first picture shows my sparse, messy way to pal brow that has to go!
I started off with a brown pencil and lightly filled in the start of the brow and stopped at the arch,I then took my anastasia beverly hills dip brow in auburn and filled from the arch to the tail giving it a slight "ombré" affect. I completed the look by setting them with the benefit gimme brow in light/medium so they stay on all day!!

Cara delevingne tutorial

Anybody that's seen the face of cara delevingne has wanted to look like her. It's just a given. Unfortunately my face will never look that good so I just put a tone of makeup on and tried to look sort of similar
Cara is well known for the heavy defined brown which I seriously envy. I attempted to make mine similar using the Hd brows palette.
After searching everywhere for a white eyeliner I was treated to a Ben Nye cake liner which looks like a shadow but mixed with water turns to a liner. I filled the lid with the cake liner and took it far into the inner corner and then topped with a white smashbox shadow
I have about 3 pairs of lashes that you'll see regularly used in most these looks, and none of these looked like cara's do so I just settled for these two and hoped for the best
Cara has cheekbones that I could only dream of,so my chubby face took as much contouring as it could with Nars casino
Cara also wears a glossy coral lip which I couldn't find in my collection and created this by mixing a collection hot pink lipstick with mac costa chic(which I really should of used by itself..regrets)

Pink and purple ombré lip

Since the whole "ombré" phase came out I've loved it all. From the hair to nails to makeup I've loved it all. I've seen a fair few ombré lips and I just fell in love and had to try it myself and was surprised at how easy it actually was.
This particular look only used two products and I was pleased with the outcome.
I started with a balm for the lips which of course had to be the baby lips. I then filled in the lips as normal with a Models own baby pink colour. I lastly took a Daniel Sandler navy eyeliner and coloured the corners of my lip and blotted them together. I completed the look by just applying more baby pink and that was it!

Mermaid Eyes

This was my attempt at a sort of mermaid look and was definitely one of my favourite to do...
The look featured quite a heavy brow (not the neatest may I add)which was done using the Anastasia beverly hills dip brow and Benefit gimme brow,my favourite eyebrow combo!
I used the urban decay primer potion in Eden which is just a staple piece you need in your makeup bag really, and then coated my eyes in the benefit high brow which is a white pencil that really makes bright colours POP!
For the blue on the eyes I purchased a £1.99 technique palette called electric(dupe of the urban decay palette)for a lot less of the price. Obviously the pigment isn't as strong but with a good base the colours work quite well. And over that I used a collection blue glitter which I'm just in love with right now
I wasn't too sure how to line the eyes so they ended up turning out like this using the bobbie brown gel eyeliner and topped the look with some eyelure lashes!
Not the most wearable everyday look but so much fun to do

Roseyalfordmakeup

Hi whoever may be reading this...
I've been obsessed with makeup for a long long time and I've always messed about with whatever I could get my hands on. A few weeks ago I decided I really need to do something about starting a career in the makeup industry and started an Instagram to document my looks and with the help of a friend I've decided my next step is to start a blog. So here it is, tutorials, product reviews, products I'm loving and anything else makeup related...
